International Credit Broker Alliance (ICBA for short) is the second-largest independent group of Trade Credit Insurance Brokers in the world. The company operates in 46 countries and its purpose is to help bring the best brokers in each country together. Since the philosophy of ICBA is 'light on bureaucracy, high on teamwork', the company was looking for smart web solutions to automate their complex business processes.
The Challenge
ICBA approached our team with a request to create a web system, that would alleviate the load of live transactions between a broker and a client. ICBA financial services involve a lot of paperwork and email exchange and prior to starting a collaboration with us ICBA brokers did everything manually. Some of the company's forms included as much as 7 to 8 steps to complete. It was clear that automating and moving everything online would make the process way more productive for brokers and attractive to their clients.
The Solution
The web system was began to build from point zero, so to make it the most comfortable to its users we tried to involve the team of ICBA in the work process as much as possible. Our teams joined to analyze and plan together. Before the production started we also tested interactive prototypes worked on UX design issues.
Together we managed to build an enclosed web system that serves two types of users (brokers and clients) and allows filling out large volumes of paperwork, viewing alternative offers, and receiving messages. The system connects clients with their brokers, while the brokers are able to track their workflows and customer data more precisely. Busy brokers can access a high-functioning and effective web software meant to provide value in a fast-paced business environment.
As the project was finalizing team of ICBA saw increasing effectiveness in communication and productivity. Through this discovery, the stakeholders understood that automating the processes further would allow for even more rewarding work.
To banish the bureaucracy altogether ICBA decided to continue improving the system. Currently, we are undergoing the second part of this project, trying to achieve full automation of paperwork, minor administrative functions, and communication with clients.
Results
The created system freed up ICBAs team from the bureaucratic duties, increased transaction effectiveness, and granted the brokers more time to focus on the work that matters. To ICBA clients it also means less tiring, speedier work, and on-time communication with their broker.
